Intersports Youth Football Club
Intersports was founded in 1981 when boys who had played in cub football expressed a desire to continue playing. Keith Heazel, a parent of one of the boys took on the responsibility of managing the team and the club was born. That team entered the local Thundermite league and were promoted to the premier division in their first season.Unfortunately they found the going much tougher and were relegated the following season! The team won a six a side competition but its league form was always erratic and they eventually folded after a string of poor results and some disciplinary problems.
However, by this time the club had merged with another local team and new teams were formed annually at the under 10 age group. The 1997/98 season brought success for the Under 12A team which won Division 2 of the Chelmsford league, and the Under 18 team which won the league cup and came runners up in the league.
Since 1999, the club has run youth teams at every representative age group: U7 - U17 in the Chelmsford Youth Football league, and has one of the largest player bases in the Billericay/Brentwood area.
